About Mountain Mech Design

Hello! Right now Mountain Mech Design is run by me, Bennett Balogh. I am a Designer, a Rectangle Enthusiast, an Athlete, a student, and more. I’ll start with keyboards as that is why you are here. I fell in love with keyboards around 4 years ago now. The idea of investing in the thing you use every day - to be excited to type on something you created really appealed to me. It gets me excited to work even when the work is mundane or boring. I now have around 9 boards + the Teton 78 which I designed and am now bringing to you!

In addition to Keyboards, I am a professional skier ranked 27th in the world and a current competitor on the World Cup circuit. I am known by my friends and coaches as "Sinor Alto" because I am 6' 4". I grew up in Jackson, WY, and although I have skied mountains worldwide, I still consider my home mountain to be Jackson Hole (in the Grand Teton mountain range). Hence the spark that lead me to the idea for the Teton 78. When I was 6, I skied the famous "Corbet's Couloir" for the first time and haven't missed a season hitting this famous run.

I graduated high school a year early with a semester of college from the University of Utah under my belt and have spent the last 2 seasons entirely focused on developing my skills in Halfpipe and Slopestyle. Two years ago, I achieved one of my dreams of skiing in not just one, but two World Cups, at the US Grand Prix at Copper Mountain, CO, and Mammoth Mountain, CA. I also was lucky enough to earn a spot to compete in Halfpipe at the Jr. World Championships in Cardrona, New Zealand. I am currently sponsored by the Monster Army, Flylow Gear, Zipline Poles, and Marker-Dalbello-Volkl.

In my spare time, you will find me solving Rubix cubes (my record is 14.65 seconds on the 3 x 3), designing, sewing, playing chess, playing piano, running a marathon, skiing, and adventuring in the mountains!
